| Areas of Work | My appointment as WDO is on a voluntary 1 day per week basis. I am a member of the diocesan Global Horizons Group which brings together Development, World Church, Environment, and Global Education (linked to the Diocesan Education Team) under the chairmanship of our suffragan bishop. The main priority at the moment is to achieve Fairtrade diocese status. A diocesan synod motion was approved 3 years ago, and progress is slowly being made. My role has predominantly been one of publicity using diocesan mailing and talks at diocesan and deanery synods. The aim is to build up awareness, and to identify and support activists in their parishes. To this end an annual, or twice-yearly, newssheet will be introduced this autumn. |
